This is Fanie de Jager at his best in Afrikaans. This is singing from the heart with total commitment and feel. It is clear that Gé Korsten’s songs fit Fanie’s voice and capability like a glove. Although Fanie had been assigned the huge task of being Gé Korsten’s understudy on two occasions while they were both still involved in live opera, he still regards Gé as his role model as far as Afrikaans music is concerned. Recording Gé Korsten’s songs was an absolute joy.
